Grants for wastewater facility planning are available from the Delaware Division of Water Resources to assist municipal and county wastewater utilities in conducting wastewater facility planning, in beginning the process of updating plans that are older than five years, or in writing overall strategies for the development of the utility within a regional context. This program is intended to aid wastewater utilities in participating in statewide planning activities.
General wastewater facility plans that contain policies, statements, goals and planning components for extension of service, maintenance and upgrades of existing and future facilities for a portion of a community or service area or for technical plans for upgrading or expanding collection, transmission, treatment, disposal, and/or residuals management facilities may receive up to a 50 percent match to a limit of $12,000.
Long range wastewater facility plans that contain policies, statements, goals and planning components for extension of service, maintenance and upgrades of existing and future facilities for an individual community or service area are eligible to receive up to a 50 percent match to a limit of $20,000.
Regional wastewater facility plans that contain policies, statements, goals and planning components for extension of service, maintenance and upgrades of existing and future facilities for multiple communities or service areas may receive up to a 50 percent match to a limit of $100,000.
