South Carolina Department of Education - FFVP
Maximum Grant Amount
NOTE: The April 3 deadline has been extended to May 8
The South Carolina Department of Education is accepting applications for the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP).
The purpose of the FFVP is for elementary schools to provide free fresh fruits and vegetables to students throughout the school day. It is an effective and creative way of introducing fresh fruits and vegetables as healthy snack options. The FFVP also encourages schools to develop partnerships at the State and local level for support in implementing and operating the program.
The goals of the FFVP are to create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices to:
- expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience,
- increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption, and
- make a difference in children’s diets to impact their present and future health.
Elementary schools, including residential child care centers, private, parochial, and charter schools are eligible to apply. See Application Submission Instructions for additional information on eligibility.
