Description
The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is accepting applications for Wisconsin Rural Physician Residency Assistance Program (WRPRAP) Program Development & Enhancement Grants.
This program seeks to collaborate with rural health advocates, community clinicians, and residency educators throughout Wisconsin to develop educational experiences that foster understanding of, and interest in, rural medical practice among new physicians.
Eligibility
- “Rural” definition: a community of fewer than 20,000 at least 15 miles from any community of 20,000 or more
- Approved residency program specialties: family medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics or psychiatry
- Preference accorded to programs actively recruiting graduates of University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and Medical College of Wisconsin
- Funds also available to institutions, facilities or organizations supporting a residency program, provided they meet all other eligibility requirements
