Description
The Open Meadows Foundation is a grantmaking organization for projects that are led by and benefit women and girls. Open Meadows funds projects that do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, or ability.
The Foundation is looking for projects focused on activism, political change, and empowerment directed by, and benefiting women and girls. Examples include projects focused on: Standing Rock, boycotts, marches, creation of new activist organizations, labor rights, community organizing, voting rights, environmental activism, economic rights, and other forms of political action encouraging participation by women and girls for women and girls.
The foundation offers grants of up to $2,000 each to projects that:
- Are designed and implemented by women and girls;
- Reflect the diversity of the community served by the project in both its leadership and organization;
- Promote building community power; and
- Have limited financial access.
Organizational budgets should not exceed $75,000.
Small and start-up organizations are strongly encouraged to apply. Proposals from organizations not previously funded will be given priority.
Timeline:
For the Spring Cycle, proposals should be submitted between 12:00 midnight EST January 1st to 12:00 midnight EST February 15th.
For the Fall Cycle, proposals should be submitted between 12:00 midnight July 1 to 12:00 midnight August 15th.
Funding is available nationwide.
