Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut is accepting grant applications to the Women's and Girls Fund. The Fund supports programs that serve women and girls in the development of economic self-sufficiency by means of education, financial literacy and social services.

Proposed programs and services must benefit women and girls in the 20 town service area: Barkhamsted, Bethlehem, Colebrook, Cornwall, Falls Village/Canaan, Goshen, Hartland, Harwinton, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Hartford, Norfolk, North Canaan, Salisbury/Lakeville, Sharon, Torrington, Warren, Washington, and Winsted/Winchester.

Applicants may request up to $5,000 for programs and/or $1,500 for capital goods or equipment. A capital good is a product that is used in the delivery of services of the nonprofit, i.e. mattresses for a residential treatment program. Equipment is an item that creates efficiency for the operation of the nonprofit, i.e. printer or refrigerator
