Maximum Grant Amount
The National Park Service accepts applications annually to the Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance (RTCA) program. Funding assists with community-led natural resource conservation and outdoor recreation initiatives.
Guidance is provided to communities so they can conserve waterways, preserve open space, and develop trails and greenways. Selected projects have included elements of environmental education.
Eligible applicants include state or local agencies, tribes, non-profit organizations, and citizens' groups. RTCA does not provide financial assistance to support project implementation.
Applicants are encouraged to consult with National Park Service (NPS) staff about their proposal at least 30 days prior to the application deadline to ensure that NPS assistance is appropriate for your proposal and that your application is the best that it can be.
This program is open nationwide.
The deadline is June 30, annually.
