NOTE: This is an updated timeline from the original announcement from the United Way, which had an April 8 deadline.
United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore will begin accepting grant applications on May 2.
Nonprofit organizations providing programs for Lower Shore residents which are in any of United Way's three impact areas of health, education or financial stability are encouraged to apply for funding.
Applicants will need to meet the minimum guidelines including but not limited to:
1) Be a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in the State of Maryland;
2) Be in existence for at least one year with oversight by an independent volunteer Board of Directors;
3) Provide services in Worcester, Wicomico, Somerset and/or Dorchester Counties.
United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore continues to be the largest non-governmental source of funding for 57 critical programs in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Dorchester Counties.
