Morris County’s Historic Preservation Trust Fund is open for 2020 grant applications. Required declarations of intent to apply are due by February 28.
To be eligible for matching grant consideration, a historic resource must be listed, or certified as eligible for listing on the New Jersey and the National Register of Historic Places. Eligible applicants are municipalities, qualified nonprofit organizations and the county.
The Morris County Division of Planning and Preservation will conduct a workshop to explain the grant application process on January 29 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Morris County Cultural Center, 300 Mendham Road, in Morris Township.
Staff members from the division will be on hand to answer questions about project eligibility requirements, the kinds of projects that have been funded in the past, the review process and any other questions applicants may have about the Trust Fund.
Projects that are principally construction related will require a Construction application. Grant requests for acquisition and preservation planning documents should be completed on a Preservation Planning application, and grant requests for the preparation of Construction Documents should be completed on the Construction Documents application.
Please be reminded that, for projects that have received Program funding for the preparation of Construction Documents, the following deadlines must be met to be considered for construction-related funds for the year 2020:
By January 7, 2020 (Tuesday) – 75% Construction Documents must be delivered to Morris County for review.
By February 28, 2020 (Friday) – 100% Construction Documents must be delivered to Morris County for review.
Applications are due by March 27, 2020
