Missouri Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for Land and Water Conservation Fund grants to assist in financing outdoor recreation projects.

Local governments and public school districts are eligible for the federal funds, which are made available through the Department of the Interior's National Park Service. Funds are available for the development or renovation of outdoor recreational facilities, or for acquisition of park land. A 50 percent match is required.

Project examples include but are not limited to:
  • Playgrounds
  • Ball fields
  • Pools and water parks
  • Archery and shooting ranges
  • Camping facilities
  • Picnic areas
  • Golf courses
  • Boating and fishing facilities
  • Trails
  • Passive areas

The maximum amount that can be requested and awarded per project is $250,000 and the minimum is $10,000.
