The Puget Sound Energy Foundation is accepting grant applications

Funding is available to local nonprofit organizations who charitably serve the public within PSE’s service or generation communities

Grant requests should identify a capacity building project or opportunity in one of three core focus areas: food security, shelter and childcare. Requests may also include staff/volunteer training requests, provided they contribute directly to your organization or programmatic capacity-building goals. Grant requests must also demonstrate how funds will be used to help improve organizational effectiveness and impact.

Focus Areas
Food Security
Projects that support existing community food and meal suppliers or foodbanks such as equipment or facility repairs, program expansion and beyond the shelf needs, staff or volunteer training or technology enhancements. They will not consider: Direct food purchases or general operating support.

Shelter Support:
Rent assistance, program administration support or technology enhancements, community needs assessments or similar projects that enhance wrap-around services and increase clients served. They will not consider: Direct single-use material purchases or general operating support.

Childcare Support
Training and certification for childcare educators, stabilization or expansion of existing youth programs, childcare subsidies or transportation related to securing childcare. They will not consider: Scholarships for individuals, private education funding or general operating support.

An active IRS 501(c)3 public charity operating within the State of Washington. Community organizations that are fiscally sponsored with a 501(c)3 designated nonprofit may also apply for funding inputting the tax-ID associated with the sponsoring organization and notating within the application you are partnered. Past applicants and grantees are welcome to apply.

Must be located in and serving the public within Puget Sound Energy’s service areas: Whatcom, Island, Skagit, Snohomish, King, Kitsap, Kittitas, Pierce, Lewis and Thurston Counties or within PSE’s generation areas: Columbia, Cowlitz, Garfield and Klickitat Counties.

PSEF cannot fund: Individual K-12 schools, youth groups, clubs, families or persons. Fundraisers or event sponsorships. Permanent staff payroll, wages or salaries. Organizations that are classified as a religious or political organization unless charitably serving the public without discrimination (such as a food bank).
