Description

Minot Golden Kiwanis is seeking applicants for its grant program to benefit children.

There are two grant programs available. For both opportunities, grant requests must involve activities or actions that will include some or all of the following:
  • improve, upgrade the educational opportunities for children
  • improve the nutrition, health and well-being of children
  • provide for the physical and mental safety of children


Mini Grants
Small grants ranging from $100 - $500


Project Grants
Larger grants ranging from $500-$5000 

For project grants, the grant request must show how the project will
  • have significant benefits over a longer period of time
  • affect significant numbers of youth 
  • provide some type of recognition to Golden “K” for its support of the project.

A higher priority will be given the following requests:
  • agencies that are local and receive most of the their funding from local sources.
  • agencies that provide for the needs of children.
  • requests where the funds from Golden “K” can have a significant impact on the project.
  • agencies that do not receive a significant portion of their operating funds from taxes or special assessments.

Lower priority will be given to:
  • agencies which field substantial fund-raising each year with paid volunteer staff. 
  • large national organizations.


Past grants have included donations to Magic City Discovery Center, YMCA swimming program, Minot Roosevelt Zoo, Homeless Coalition, Domestic Violence, 2nd Story, scholarships, Anne Carlsen School, Salvation Army and American Legion Baseball.

Eligibility
Any program serving youth in the Minot and surrounding area is eligible to apply.
