The Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation is accepting grant applications. The Foundation funds programs that measurably improve the health of those living in the lower Rio Grande Valley by promoting healthy lifestyles and providing increased access to healthcare for all. The primary strategic priority is Obesity and Diabetes Prevention. However, they do consider funding for all types of health-related initiatives.

In order to be eligible to receive funding from the Legacy Foundation, an organization must:
  • Be a current 501c3 organization with a valid Letter of Determination from the IRS,
  • Serve residents of Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr or Willacy counties,
  • Request funding for projects or programs that demonstrate a positive effect on the health of residents within our funding area, and
  • Have no funded requests on file within the previous 12 month period.
