Description
Willamette Workforce Partnership is accepting applications to the Youth Wage grant program.
The purpose of this program is to support employers who hire youth, aged 14 – 17, who have not worked before. Participating small employers will be reimbursed $5 per hour up to 1,000 hours per eligible youth, for a total of $6,000 maximum compensation.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Youth Wage Grant program, applicant businesses must comply with the following:
- Be based in Marion County;
- Not employ more than 35 employees;
- Can provide a copy of a valid annual Youth Employment Certificate from the Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI);
- Can provide a copy of current worker's compensation insurance;
- Will employ a youth at least 14 years of age, but not older than 17, who is a resident of Marion County, Oregon;
- Will provide documentation showing the employed youth performed work between May 1, 2023 through September 30, 2023;
- Allow a representative of Willamette Workforce Partnership to visit your worksite to assure compliance with this grant.
Note from your Grant Gopher team: Last year, this program was also open in Linn, Polk, and Yamhill counties. That does not appear to be the case for this cycle.
