The Doris Day Animal Foundation makes grants to nonprofit organizations for animal welfare, human assistance animals, the care and feeding of animals, and pet adoption and rescue. Currently, a primary focus area is assisting senior companion animals for food, care, veterinary costs, or need for adoption.

Interested applicants should first submit a letter of inquiry including:

* A short history and purpose of your organization,

* Description of the project where you would like help, and

* The amount of funding you are seeking.

Letters of introduction will be accepted only the first month of each quarter (January, April, July, and October). Immediately after that they will be reviewed and possible grant recipients will receive grant applications for completion.

Funding is available nationwide.
