The San Diego Women's Foundation is accepting letters of inquiry for the next grant cycle. The goal of this cycle is to fund prevention and intervention programs to support those at risk for and victims of human trafficking.

Letters of Inquiry may be submitted by nonprofit organizations that work across various fields to provide services to those at risk or affected by human trafficking, including but not limited to one of more of the following: Education for prevention, Rescue programs, Therapy and/or counseling, Life skills training, Employment education, Housing solutions, Victim advocacy, Healthcare, Food access, Legal services, Social services.

Grant Parameter Definitions:
  • Underserved – For the purposes of this grant cycle, anyone affected by or at risk for human trafficking is underserved.
  • Human Trafficking – This population includes any individual who is controlled through force, fraud, or coercion to engage in labor, sexual conduct, or other services.

The minimum grant to be awarded in this grant cycle is $25,000. Programs that do not meet that amount have the option to collaborate with other similar programs and submit one proposal for the collaboration. There is no maximum award, though the total award pool is expected to be between $175,000 and $200,000.

Each grant is awarded for a 12-month period. This grant cycle begins on July 1, 2019 and ends on June 30, 2020.

To be eligible for a grant from SDWF, organizations must be located in and provide services in San Diego County. Organizations must have tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status. An organization may serve as a fiscal sponsor for a charitable organization that does not have tax-exempt status if a cooperative relationship between the two can be clearly demonstrated. The fiscal sponsor must be willing to administer the grant if awarded.
