The Colorado Department of Public Health is accepting applications for Emergency Medical and Trauma Service (EMTS) Provider Grants. These grants provide funding for emergency medical and trauma service providers.


Funding can be used for one of the following eight categories:
* Ambulance and vehicle: Offers funds to purchase an ambulance or rescue vehicle
* Communications: Offers funds to purchase radios, pagers, and other communication system components
* Data Collection: Offers funds to purchase laptops, desktops, servers, hardware and software for use in the statewide data collection program.
* Equipment: Offers funds to purchase general EMS and trauma equipment, extrication equipment, defibrillators and cardiac monitors, training and education equipment, safety equipment and pediatric equipment
* Injury prevention: Offers funds for injury prevention projects
* Personnel and services: Offers funds for personnel salary.
* Recruitment/Retention: Offers funds for programs and projects related the recruitment and retention of EMS personnel
* Other: Offers funds for projects that may not fit into the above categories, such as conversion of an ambulance box into a training simulator

Applicants must have as their purpose the provision of emergency medical and trauma services in the state of Colorado to be eligible. This includes, but is not limited to:
* Ambulance agencies
* Fire agencies
* State and local governing entities
* Training facilities
* Hospitals and clinics
* Special districts
* Other public and private providers of EMS and trauma

All awards are reimbursement-based. Typically, awards of less than $100,000 will receive a purchase order, and awards of more than $100,000 will receive a contract.

A 50% local cash match is required. There is a financial waiver process for organizations that cannot meet the required 50% match.
