A fledgling organization came to me recently describing a transaction that the board was considering.  The transaction would have resulted in one or more of the board members receiving a preferential tax treatment that they may not have otherwise received.

Sage North America recently announced the results of its Sage Nonprofit Insights, Q1 2011, survey of U.S. nonprofit organizations. While the survey highlighted many interesting points, it was the data regarding online donations that got me thinking.
