Community Grants Available in New York CityThe Citizens Committee for New York City awards micro-grants to resident-led groups to work on community and school improvement projects throughout the city. The Committee prioritizes groups based in low income neighborhoods and Title I public schools.

Grants for Nonprofits in CaliforniaThe Community Foundation of Mendocino County is accepting applications for the 2017 Community Enrichment Grant. The foundation provides grant support in many areas of community life including, but not limited to, education, the arts, community health, alleviation of poverty, youth, and the environment.  

The application deadline is December 7, 2016.

Community Grants in MarylandThe Rotary Club of Annapolis is accepting grant applications to distribute the proceeds from its annual Crab Feast.

Community Grants in TexasThe Navarro County Electric Cooperative is accepting applications for its Operation Roundup Program. Grants are made to organizations and individuals for charitable activities in Ellis, Freestone, Hill, Limestone, and Navarro Counties. 

Applications are accepted quarterly.  The next application deadline is November 25, 2016.

Capacity Building Grants in CaliforniaThe Santa Barbara Foundation Express Grants offer an opportunity for nonprofits to strengthen and improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. 

Applications are accepted the first Monday of every month, from January through November 2016.

Capital Grants Available for Nonprofit Organizations (Multiple States)
The Sunderland Foundation makes grants annually to publicly supported charitable organizations with tax exempt status under section 501 [c] 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation prefers to make grants for capital and special projects rather than for annual operating expenses.   Applications may be submitted at any time.

Grants for Rural Church Outreach Programs in North Carolina

The Duke Endowment is accepting applications for North Carolina Rural Church Grants. This program will offer funding to United Methodist Churches in rural areas for health and human service-related outreach programs, church development, and leadership programs.  The pre-application deadline is March 11, 2017. 

Housing Grants for Nonprofit Organizations in South Carolina
The Coastal Community Foundation accepts applications biannually to the Realtors Housing Opportunities Fund (RHOF). Grants are available to nonprofits that focus on affordable housing including education, development, maintenance, or repair.  Deadlines are July 22 and December 18, 2016.

Grants for Nonprofits in Kentucky to Support Community Improvement Projects
The City of Newport has established a mini grant program to help start the process of implementing ReNewport. The grants will help fund community engagement efforts for Newport residents who want to help advance the program’s goals.  The first round of mini grant applications are due by May 31, the second round of applications by Aug. 31 and the third round by Nov. 30.
