The Nevada State Historic Preservation Office is accepting applications for federal preservation grants.

The grant funding is provided by the National Park Service. Grants can support public education, surveys, planning, archaeological investigations, and building restoration. Applicants must be either a governmental agency or a non-profit organization. Private property owners are not eligible. Buildings must be listed in the National Register of Historic Places to be eligible.

Previous projects included the painting of the Fourth Ward School in Virginia City and the evaluation of the Beverly Green neighborhood in Las Vegas.

First-time applicants can also apply for a multi-step project from evaluating whether a property meets the eligibility requirements for a national historic register to the rehabilitation phase of a project.

The application deadline is December 1, annually
